The Dream Gleaners
a show by La Compagnie Humaine
Attention : sold-out show.
As part of the 9th edition of OVNi, the international video art festival, the Musée National Marc Chagall is hosting La Compagnie Humaine and its choreographic piece, The Dream Gleaners, for an exceptional evening.
This creation is inspired by the poetic and literary universe of the artist Patti Smith, and more specifically by her eponymous collection, a brief and luminous autobiographical narrative composed of poems and short prose texts, completed on her 45th birthday.
In her short story The Gleaners, Patti Smith invites us to rediscover the sensations of childhood, a taste for words and imagination, with a striking realism that borders on the fantastic. Bodies in movement, their raw states, the hybridity of the musical universe, the projection of filmed images, a chiselled dramaturgy, carefully crafted lighting and performers eager to push their limits are the strong elements that Éric Oberdorff has used to convey to the spectator the poetic charge contained in Patti Smith's words.
