An unusual encounter between the harpsichord and the accordion

The unusual pairing of the harpsichord and the accordion encourages the search for suitable repertoire. It gives rise to a creative and innovative fusion of genres.
Between two polyphonic keyboard instruments – one stringed, inspired by the lute, the other wind-powered, inspired by the harmonium – there is a wide choice of pieces, drawn either from the repertoire for harpsichord and organ (Soler, Krebs, Bach, Vivaldi) or from the repertoire of accordionists (Piazzolla, etc.).
From Baroque music to contemporary works, including a composition by Charlotte Marck, the programme promises to explore unexpected sounds.

The Pierre Cochereau Regional Conservatoire of the City of Nice

Founded in 1916 by the pianist Adeline Bailet, the Pierre Cochereau Regional Conservatoire in Nice celebrated its centenary in 2015. Led by Thierry Muller since 2016, the institution, situated in the superb, recently built premises on Avenue Brancolar, is now recognised for the excellence of its artistic teaching in music, dance and theatre, placing it amongst the leading conservatoires in France. Every year, it trains a large number of soloists, dancers and actors who are well-known and recognised both nationally and even internationally. It has also developed a bachelor’s degree programme in partnership with the Université Côte d’Azur, of which it is now a member. It enriches the artistic life of its region and city through collaborations with other prestigious regional arts and higher education institutions. It also has a significant international presence, continuing to forge close ties and share talent and expertise with other higher education centres.
