The ‘Atelier du beau’ at the Chagall Museum!
Academic year 2026–2027

What is beauty? Must art be beautiful? Where do my emotions and judgements arise when faced with a work of art? How can I express them freely and creatively?

These are just some of the questions – with or without answers – addressed in this workshop, where students engage with issues of aesthetics, artistic creation and art history, whilst gaining an insight into the professional and creative world behind the scenes at the Marc Chagall National Museum and exploring art through creative sessions.

An introduction to the concept of aesthetics, lectures, an exploration of museum careers and creative sessions will form the backbone of the 14 sessions in this new academic year. The Atelier du Beau will take place on Tuesdays from 6.00 pm to 8.30 pm, starting on 20 October 2026. (date to be confirmed at a later date)

The full programme of sessions will be announced shortly.

In addition to the workshop, UCARTs will offer a unique experience to all students: ‘Les Objets du Beau’, a showcase to mark the end of the workshop sessions, scheduled for Friday 16 April 2027 at 109, Pôle de cultures contemporaines, in Nice. Find out more
