CHAMBER MUSIC CONCERT

Chostakovitch / Clarke / Pütz
Monday 27th March 2023, at 8pm
Musée national Marc Chagall

CYCLE OF 11 CONCERTS, FROM OCTOBER 2022 TO MAY 2023

by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Nice,
a co-production of the Opera of Nice and the 20th century national museum of the Alpes-Maritimes.

The Marc Chagall National Museum and the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra are continuing their long-standing collaboration: for more than twenty years, chamber music has resounded in the exceptional setting of the museum's concert hall opposite Marc Chagall's The Creation of the World stained glass windows.

This season, each of these concerts will feature a contemporary female composer. For this second concert of March, the British Rebecca Clarke (1886-1979) will be honoured once again.

Programme of Monday 27th March 2023, at 8pm

  • Dmitri Chostakovitch (1906-1975), Sonata for viola and piano, op. 147 (1975)
  • Rebecca Clarke (1886-1979), Lullaby on an Ancient Irish Tune (1913)
  • Rebecca Clarke (1886-1979), Morpheus (1917)
  • Eduard Pütz (1911-2000), Blues for Benni (1991)

Performers
