CRÉA

an original dance performance created for the Musée National Marc Chagall

Design and choreography : Mimoza Koike and Asier Edeso
Music : ilia Osokin

In dance, the body is the origin of movement. It initiates it, it seeks it, it tracks it... but it also receives it. It is the artistic medium. The dancing body is both creator and interpreter.

Asier Edeso and Mimoza Koike have made this particularity the common thread running through their piece CREA. In it, the two dancers move back and forth between the thinking and the thought, the creator and the created, the subject and the object.

"If I create from the heart, almost everything works, if it's from the head, almost nothing." (Marc Chagall quote)

Asier Edeso, dancer and choreographer
Born in 1986 in San Sebastián, Spain, Asier Edeso trained in San Sebastian and Madrid, Spain (1994-2004), then in London at the Royal Ballet Upper School (2004-2005). After working with the Scottish Ballet in Glasgow and the Ballet de l'Opéra national du Rhin, in 2008 he joined Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, directed by Jean-Christophe Maillot. He performs a wide variety of works and roles from the classical repertoire (La Belle, Roméo et Juliette, Cendrillon, Shéhérazade, Faust, The Nutcracker, etc.) as well as works that have entered the repertoire or have been created by guest choreographers for the Ballets company (Le Fils Prodigue, Le Sacre du Printemps, New Sleep, etc.).
