Visits and workshops

For creative, enriching and entertaining vacations! Discover two exhibitions brought together in a single event: Picasso x Picasso: Picasso x Picasso. L'art du multiple : Picasso, ses affiches and Picasso céramiques, les techniques du multiple, as well as two new rooms reserved
for the permanent collections, featuring great names in ceramics and painting such as Massier, Derain, Vlaminck... You can also have fun with the museum's architecture by taking part in a wicker-weaving activity designed to provide lasting shade for the courtyard.

Moulage, bis repetita
From 1947 to 1971, Pablo Picasso produced a large number of ceramics at the Madoura workshop in Vallauris, including limited editions using a variety of techniques. Following in the artist's footsteps, try your hand at the stamping technique, applying a fresh sheet of clay to a plaster mould and decorating the resulting prints.

Stamp creation
Ceramists, like Pablo Picasso, sometimes create their own stamps. This stamped decoration on fresh clay allows the same motif to be repeated.
Be inventive and make your own stamp!

Explorations about peace / Message of peace
A resistant and militant artist, Picasso was involved in the post-war peace movement, using his art as a weapon. Take a look at the posters for the World Peace Congresses and other pacifist events, featuring the famous dove that would become a universal symbol of peace. In turn, create your own poster celebrating peace using the tools of your choice: pastels, crayons, paint, collage, etc.

Linocut 
As an engraver, Picasso was introduced to a new technique, linocut, by the Vallauris printer Hidalgo Arnera, which allowed for multiple print runs. Take a look at
linocut posters for exhibitions and bullfighting shows, then try your hand at linocutting and take home your own!

Fauna and flora
Massier and his followers depicted nature in their Art Nouveau ceramics. Go in search of the many animals and plants. Then sketch out your own vase and integrate a colorful natural setting using collage and drawing.

Ceramics in flowers
New works exhibited at the museum show the talent of the Fauvist painters on ceramics. They applied their brightly colored palette to clay, creating floral compositions with simplified brushstrokes. In the workshop, on cookie or glazed ceramic, have fun painting lovely, brightly-colored flowers.

Full-day workshop

Bringing architecture to life 
Accompanied by an architect and a basket maker, take a fresh look at the museum courtyard and its medieval and Renaissance facades, then help weave a wicker creation to shade part of this welcoming and restful space.
13 -17 years: 07/30 from 9:30am to 11:45am and from 2pm to 4:15pm
6 - 12 years: 08/06 from 9:30am to 11:45am and from 2pm to 4:15pm

Picasso x Picasso. L’art du multipleWith two complementary exhibitions: Picasso, his posters and Picasso céramiques, les techniques du multiple, the Musée Magnelli, musée de la céramique wishes to explore the multiple in the work of Pablo Picasso. This theme, essential to the artist's creative process, bears witness to his constant interest in reproduction and variation, going beyond mere technical reiteration to become a veritable field of plastic experimentation.
