Guided tours on the first Sundays of the month

Visits of the collections and the ongoing exhibition on the first Sunday of each month
Musée national Fernand Léger

Every first Sunday of the month at 11am, our outreach team invites you to come and explore the world of Fernand Léger in the company of a lecturer: from his early Impressionist and then Cubist compositions to the works of the last years of his life. Aimed at adults and teenagers alike, these guided tours will help you to understand his love of the circus, the world of workers, objects, colour and the modern world, as you explore the works on display.

Exhibition from June 15th to November 18th 2024:
Léger and the New Realists. The collections of the MAMAC in Biot

The Musée national Fernand Léger in Biot and the Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain (MAMAC) in Nice are joining forces to celebrate artistic creativity with an exhibition that brings together the joyful and colourful work of the painter Fernand Léger (1881-1955) and key works from the MAMAC.

Thanks to an unprecedented partnership between two of the Côte d'Azur's major collections, works by Niki de Saint Phalle, Arman, Yves Klein, Raymond Hains, Martial Raysse and César will come face to face, in a spirit of total freedom and dialogue between the arts, with the plastic innovations of Fernand Léger, one of the pioneers of the 20th-century avant-garde. Alongside the main representatives of Nouveau Réalisme, a group founded in Paris in 1960 around the art critic Pierre Restany, works by the generation of artists who emerged on the other side of the Atlantic in the 1960s, such as Roy Lichtenstein and later Keith Haring, illustrate the artistic exchanges that existed very early on between the European and American scenes.

This exhibition is organised at the Musée national Fernand Léger, Biot by the Musée national du XXe siècle des Alpes-Maritimes and GrandPalaisRmn, in partnership with the Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain (MAMAC), Nice. To find out more about the exhibition.
