For this 42nd edition, the European Heritage Days highlight "architectural heritage" in all its richness and diversity. Marc Chagall, offers us a poetic vision of architecture through the beauty of his stained glass windows and mosaics.

The museum's mediation team is offering a special program for the weekend:

COMMENTS ON THE CURRENT EXHIBITIONVisite de l'exposition "De verre et de pierre. Chagall en mosaïque"

For the first time, the museum presents a complete overview of the fourteen mosaic projects created by Marc Chagall, through numerous works and archival documents. Sketches and models illustrate the artist's research and creative process. The works, which come from private collections and international institutions, are showcased in an immersive setting featuring large-format photographs and tactile, interactive displays designed to introduce visitors of all ages to this ancient technique. Atelier "Fabrique ta mosaïque"FABRIQUE TA MOSAÏQUE

Discover the many mosaics created by Marc Chagall in the exhibition De verre et de pierre. Chagall en mosaïque! Based on drawings inspired by the artist's mosaics, children and adults alike can decorate their creations with colorful tesserae using stickers, recycled paper, and cut-out felt, in order to learn the mosaic technique presented at the beginning of the workshop.

ULYSSE'S KAMISHIBAISéance de kamishibaï dans le jardin du musée

Kamishibai, the Japanese art of storytelling, takes the form of a small mobile theater made of wood or cardboard, called a butai, in which the storyteller displays illustrated panels to accompany their narrative. In the museum garden, under the shade of olive trees, this miniature theater tells the epic tale of Ulysses, the famous Greek hero, through Marc Chagall's lithographs of The Odyssey. This storytelling session is followed by a short family tour of the exhibition Of Glass and Stone: Chagall in Mosaic.

Jeu du twister GAMES IN THE GARDEN

“Mosaic Balance” is a mosaic-shaped Twister game! The goal: stay balanced on the tiles for as long as possible!


In “Mémosaïque,” players must find pairs of cards representing the works and tools in the workshop... but watch out for traps that may pop up along the way!

During the European Heritage Days, the Marc Chagall National Museum is open from 10am to 6pm.
