CYCLE OF 11 CONCERTS, FROM OCTOBER 2022 TO MAY 2023
by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Nice,
a co-production of the Opera of Nice and the 20th century national museum of the Alpes-Maritimes.
The Marc Chagall National Museum and the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra are continuing their long-standing collaboration: for more than twenty years, chamber music has resounded in the exceptional setting of the museum's concert hall opposite Marc Chagall's The Creation of the World stained glass windows.
This season, each of these concerts will feature a contemporary female composer. In March, it will be the lyric soprano Svetla Vassileva (born 1965) who will honour the evening with her presence.
Programme of Monday 13th March 2023, at 8pm
- Pierre Ruscher (born in 1966), Rêverie (World Creation)
- Clara Schumann (1819-1896), Three Romances, for violin and piano, op. 22 (1853)
- Richard Strauss (1864-1949), Sonata for violin and piano, op.18 (1888)
- Richard Strauss (1864-1949), Morgen for soprano, violin and piano, op. 27 (1894)
