Practical informations

In the grounds of the Vallauris priory, in the heart of the old town, the Pablo Picasso national Museum, War and Peace, occupies the space of the Romanesque chapel. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the Magnelli municipal museum, the ceramics museum, and is the first stage of a journey through the town linking the places where Picasso lived and worked.
Resident in Vallauris since 1948, Picasso chose this chapel to install a monumental mural composition entitled War and Peace. This work, conceived in situ, denounces with passion and inventiveness the horrors of war and bears witness to the artist's commitment to peace.

All photographers

In recent years, photography and filming in museums and monuments has become a common phenomenon that is often extended to social networks. The Ministry of Culture and Communication wanted to support institutions and visitor associations in designing a charter of understanding that sets out the main rules for visiting and sharing culture in the digital age. This charter is likely to inspire other ministries, local authorities and the entire network of cultural structures in the heritage field.
