Guided tours on the first Sundays of the month

Visits of the collections and the ongoing exhibition on the first Sunday of each month
Musée national Fernand Léger

Our mediation team invites you to join us every first Sunday of the month at 11am for an exploration of the world of Fernand Léger, led by a conference speaker. From his early Impressionist compositions to his Cubist works and the pieces from his later years, this guided tour is designed for adult and adolescent audiences. Through the artworks on display, you will gain an understanding of Léger's passion for the circus, the working class, objects, color, and the modern world.

Starting from April 15th, come and discover the exhibition of artist Pierrick Sorin, titled "Le Balai mécanique" (The Mechanical Broom).

Pierrick Sorin, a videographer and director, embodies a character in his videos that are inspired by slapstick comedy and the poetic worlds of Georges Méliès and Jacques Tati. With humor and irony, he questions the meaning of our everyday lives. Starting from 1995, he invented "optical theaters" in which a virtual hologram - his miniature double - performs in comedic scenes within a makeshift set made of real and fictional objects.

For the Fernand Léger National Museum, Pierrick Sorin creates an immersive video artwork in which he mischievously involves the viewers while paying tribute to the modernity and aesthetic inventiveness of Fernand Léger's iconic film, "Ballet mécanique" (1925), a masterpiece of cinematic avant-garde.
