Selections of works, photographs of Marc Chagall's studios, archive documents, presentation of the different techniques used by the artist: this original project, led by the Association of Friends of Marc Chagall, invites visitors to discover the breadth, diversity and richness of the artist's work, offering a new perspective on his work through his various explorations.
At the heart of the project, the online catalogue raisonné, a scientific tool made available free of charge to researchers, professionals and art lovers, is organised by technique and aims to list the works created by the artist throughout his career, from 1906 to 1985. The first volume is devoted to the sculptures of Marc Chagall, listing 97 sculptures executed between 1952 and 1983. The second volume, planned for 2024, will be devoted to the artist's ceramics.
A project led by the Association of Friends of Marc Chagall
Created in 2019 to defend and promote the work and reputation of the artist Marc Chagall, the Association of Friends of Marc Chagall's main mission is currently to disseminate and record his work, through the production of the official catalogue raisonné of Marc Chagall, with the help of the Marc Chagall Committee and the Marc and Ida Chagall Archives, providing an exhaustive overview of the artist's creation and the techniques he experimented with. The Association des Amis de Marc Chagall is also in charge of the Marc and Ida Chagall Archives, made available by the heirs of Marc Chagall.
