"DIFFRACTION", A PERFORMANCE PROPOSED BY MIMOZA KOIKE AND ASIER EDESO

Choregraphy and design : Mimoza Koike and Asier Edeso

a co-production of the Ballets de Monte-Carlo and the National 20th Century Museum of the Alpes-Maritimes

The dance performances proposed by Mimoza Koike and Asier Edeso, dancers from the Ballets de Monte-Carlo, are an opportunity to combine dance and other artistic disciplines in a light format that brings the works of art into dialogue with the body in movement. This form of dissemination of dance is part of a common desire of the Ballets de Monte-Carlo and the national Museums of the 20th Century in the Alpes-Maritimes to offer proposals that give the living spectacle the meaning of a performance art.

Diffraction refers to the many skills involved in making a stained glass window. Several craftsmen work together to create this complex work whose colour changes according to the time of day and the variations in light. Marc Chagall was sensitive to this art and designed superb stained glass windows by making collages of fabrics and then talking to craftsmen. Mimoza Koike and Asier Edeso echo this approach through a sensitive performance based on spirituality and light.
