FULL CONCERT !

On July 7, 1973, the national museum dedicated to the works of Marc Chagall opened in Nice. Marc Chagall himself was born on July 7, 1887, in Vitebsk, Belarus. The Friends of the Museum association was born alongside the museum. It has always celebrated these two anniversaries, and this year in 2023, even more so, as we celebrate the 50th anniversary!

For this occasion, Frank Braley has been invited to offer us an exceptional concert, in the magnificent setting of the museum's auditorium.

Frank Braley began studying piano at the age of four. At the age of ten, he gave his first concert with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France. Later, he pursued scientific studies at the university before deciding to focus on music. At the age of 18, he entered the Conservatoire de Paris, where he obtained the first prize in piano and chamber music. In 1991, he won the first prize and the audience prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Belgium. From then on, his career took off. He travels and performs worldwide, being a guest artist at major festivals every year (such as La Roque d'Anthéron, Périgord Noir, etc.). From 2014 to 2021, Frank Braley served as the Music Director of the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie in Belgium. Since 2011, he has been a professor at the Conservatoire de Paris.

The uniqueness of Frank Braley's concerts lies in his desire to share the music with the audience and help them understand the works he performs on the piano. In this regard, he represents a sort of departure from the traditionalism and highly anticipated format of piano or orchestral concerts.

The program includes:
Franz Schubert, Impromptu Op. 90 No. 1 in C minor
Ludwig van Beethoven, Piano Sonata No. 31 Op. 110
Johannes Brahms, 2 Intermezzos Op. 117
Intermission

Claude Debussy, selection of preludes presented by Frank Braley
George Gershwin, Rhapsody in Blue
