The documentation centre has a library, photo library and a whole host of documents and archives of the museum’s scientific activity. It does not store Chagall’s archives though.
This contains a large number of publications on Chagall, exhibition catalogues and monographic publications, complete collections of art magazines – such as Cahier d’art or Verve (the only complete collection outside of Paris) – and countless works on history of art. It also has a significant collection of books on the history of religions – particularly Christianity and Judaism.
• A collection of photographs on Chagall.
• The archives of the museum’s scientific activity since it opened: exhibitions, publications, research.
• The work files (works belonging to the museum and entrustments) may be partially consulted upon prior request by researchers.
