CYCLE OF 11 CONCERTS, FROM OCTOBER 2022 TO MAY 2023

by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Nice,
a co-production of the Opera of Nice and the 20th century national museum of the Alpes-Maritimes.

The Marc Chagall National Museum and the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra are continuing their long-standing collaboration: for more than twenty years, chamber music has resounded in the exceptional setting of the museum's concert hall opposite Marc Chagall's The Creation of the World stained glass windows or in the heart of the collections, in the Biblical Message cycle room. .

This season, each of these concerts will feature a contemporary female composer. In February, the work of the Welsh Grace Williams (1906-1977) will be celebrated.

  • Robert Janssens (born in 1939), The Abbey Sonatas (1988)
  • Olivier dos Santos (born in 1962), Lusifonia for solo clarinet, piano and string orchestra
  • Laurent Coulomb (born in 1977), The Darkness of our Day, for harp and strings (2019)
